Mohegan's Loop

As I dug in the dirt this spring, feeling the cool dirt between my fingers, planting seeds, I realized how much I enjoyed and needed to perform that ritual each year. Later that day, as I sat in my studio I wanted to re-capture those feeling. To honor my American Indian Heritage and my great- great- grandmother, a Mohegan Indian, I have created a collection which captures the essence of what that heritage means to me. The spring symbolizes a new start for creatures, plants and the cycle of our youth!

Mohegan's Loop combines Mother Earth; symbolized by the organically textured flat ellipses, the large planished loop is Father Sun, and the smaller planished loops symbolize you and me, as we interact with both.
